No two relationships are the same, so why should your ceremony be?
Whether you’re getting married, renewing your vows or celebrating your commitment to each other, I can create a ceremony that feels relaxed, personal and unmistakably you. There may be happy tears. There should definitely be laughter.

Common Questions
Do we need a marriage licence?
Yes. In New Zealand you’ll need a marriage licence before you can legally marry. You can apply online, and it needs to be arranged at least three working days before your ceremony. It’s valid for three months.
Do we have to write our own vows?
You can - and I’m very happy to help if staring at a blank page fills you with dread! For a personalised NZ wedding there are a few legal words that need to be included, but around those we can make your vows as heartfelt, simple, funny or personal as you like.
Do we need witnesses?
Yes. You need two witnesses who understand what’s happening and can identify you both and understand that you’re consenting to the marriage. They don’t have to have known you for any particular length of time.
Can we get married anywhere?
Pretty much! A personalised ceremony can be held on any day and at any time, but your ceremony location needs to comply with your marriage-licence requirements. It’s also a good idea to nominate a backup location - particularly with Waikato weather doing what Waikato weather does! 😄
Can we make the ceremony really informal?
Absolutely. Once we’ve taken care of the legal requirements, the rest should feel like you. Relaxed, romantic, funny, traditional, completely non-traditional - we’ll create something that suits your personalities rather than squeezing you into a template.
What happens when we first meet?
Mostly, we talk. I want to hear how you met, what you love about each other, what makes you laugh and what you want your day to feel like. From there, I’ll start shaping a ceremony around your story.
